EZ CHUMMER
Inventor: Jerry A. Smith

Product Description
The EZ Chummer is a meat grinder that is turned by a small, 12 volt DC motor which would be used to grind bait that is to be dispersed into water when fishing, a method used to attract fish which is referred to as chumming.
Design Features
• The EZ Chummer would be an electromechanical device which would be used to produce ground up chum from fish bait. Although the EZ Chummer is intended for use as a fishing accessory, the device would be manufactured by establishments in the Electric Housewares and Fans Industry. This industry produces a wide range of electrically operated devices, including electrically operated mixers, blenders and grinders, small appliances that are similar in operation and function to the EZ Chummer.
• The EZ Chummer would be comprised of a sturdy, double tinned, cast iron meat grinder and a small, DC motor. The EZ Chummer is similar in appearance to hand operated meat grinders used in homes and restaurants with a major exception-the hand operated crank is replaced with the DC motor. The drive shaft of the motor would be mechanically linked to the cutting blades of the meat grinder and would rotate the blades when the EZ Chummer is being used.
• The entire assembly is mounted on a base plate which will channel chum directly into the water as it is being produced. The DC motor would be connected to the 12 volt boat battery or separate 12 volt battery, if so desired. As can be envisioned, use of the EZ Chummer would be very straightforward and would simply entail feeding bait fish into the meat grinder funnel, the ground up chum produced being dispensed through the output hopper.
Advantages & Benefits
• The EZ Chummer would make chumming for fish much easier, faster and less messy-advantages that would be useful to any fishermen when chumming for fish.
• Physically impaired individuals would no longer have to work hard at turning a handle over and over again to chum for fish. With the motor attached, chum for fish could be produced in only a matter of seconds.
