Product Description

The Rack is a security device, similar to a bicycle rack, that is specially designed for multiple skateboards. Designed with the intent to provide skateboard enthusiasts with a simple and effective means of securing their equipment outside schools and businesses.

Design Features

• The Rack was invented by Ms. Othella Adams with convenience in mind. The Rack is essentially envisioned as an outdoor security device, similar to a bicycle rack, that is specially designed for multiple skateboards. Basically rectangular in shape, The Rack would be fabricated of a durable, galvanized steel material. Configured to stand upright and to be anchored to the ground or a solid structure such as a building wall, this product would feature series of paired rods that connect the top of The Rack to its base. These rods, evenly spaced apart in a vertical fashion, would come equipped with a horizontal peg extension at each end. These extensions would serve to suspend a skateboard onto The Rack via the “trucks” of the board, which are two metal (usually aluminum alloy) pieces attached to the deck that connect to the wheels. An additional consideration would be for The Rack to be padded as not to scratch or otherwise damage the trucks or bottom of a board. The Rack, as conceived, could secure up to five devices, and all that is needed to do so is a common padlock. Its was been suggested however, that this product could be offered in smaller sizes to be used outside of a home or in larger, industrial sizes for use at malls and school, where securing more than five boards would most likely be necessary.

Advantages & Benefits

• The Rack would provide skateboarders with an effective means of storing and securing their equipment when reaching a destination. A specially designed, exterior security system similar to a bicycle rack, this clever product would eliminate the need for skaters to continuously lug their boards when entering a building. Moreover, users would be able to enjoy hanging out at skateboard restricted areas such as malls and movie theaters, confident that their boards are safely secured outside. These and other retail businesses, in turn, would certainly benefit from implementing a product such as The Rack, a skateboard enthusiasts would be more apt to patronize their establishments knowing they have a convenient means of safeguarding their equipment. Additionally, skaters would be able to use their boards to get to school, a cost effective and convenient mode of transportation, without worry about getting in trouble for bringing their boards inside the school building. Simple in design yet effective in application The Rack would facilitate steadfast skateboard security in a matter of seconds.
