The Door Knob Alarm is an audible electronic alarm system designed to be deployed on a home or commercial facility’s doorknobs. The design intent is that The Door Knob Alarm emit a piercing tone when the door knob was turned from the outside or inside, and thus provide a heightened level of security and deterrence in crime.

Design Features:

• The Door Knob Alarm would be a simple device to be placed over any doorknob, this device is equipped with sensors that detect movement of the doorknob and an audible alarm that sounds if the knob is turned for the outside or inside. • The Door Knob Alarm would be fabricated of a temperature and impact-resistant injection-molded thermoplastic, and would feature electronic motion sensors and a digital tone alarm. • Powered by an AA or 9-volt battery, The Door Knob Alarm would have a toggle-type On/Off switch at the top center. The front of the unit would have a series of red lights going around the circumference that would light up in a chasing style when the alarm goes off. • The Door Knob Alarm would be shaped like a large donut, with the center opening for the doorknob itself. The Door Knob Alarm would slip over the doorknob, and within the central opening the four sensors would keep the unit tight to the doorknob. These sensors would respond to any grasping or turning of the doorknob, and would activate a high-pitched audible alarm and lights, these will continue until The Door Knob Alarm is turned off and reset. • The Door Knob Alarm would be manufactured in several different sizes to work with all types of doorknobs, as well as a variety of colors and patterns suit individual consumers taste.
